* 30 நாட்களில் பேச்சு ஆங்கிலம், Repidex, விவேகானந்தா கல்வி நிலையம் போன்றவற்றை நாடாதீர்கள். முறைப்படி இலக்கண விதிகளை நினைவு வைத்துப் பேச வேண்டி இருப்பது, உங்களை மனம் தளரச் செய்யலாம். நீங்கள் பேசிப் பழகப் பழக நாளடைவில் இலக்கணம் தானாக வரும்.

The dictionary is right now relegated to just two increasingly-irrelevant things.
- to learn the etymology of words
- to learn the spelling of words
For everything else, I think, the Internet, Google, and a score of other well-researched and well-maintained blogs and websites serve us better..
And, if you want to learn what is the best word to use in a particular occasion, here are some tips.
- Watch Hollywood movies.
- Read newspaper editorials.
- Read authentic, famous, well-maintained news blogs from BBC, CNN, NYT, The Hindu…

முன்னமே சொன்னதுபோல்(From one of my colleague’s comment னு) இது என் அனுபவமல்ல. இன்னமும் வாடிக்கையாளர்களிடம் தொலைபேசியில் ஆங்கிலத்தில் பேசும்போது உதறல்தான், அவ்வப்போது சொற்கள் சிக்காமல் திணறுவதுண்டு! அந்த மறுமொழியை (எங்கள் அலுவலக வலைப்பதிவில்) இட்ட ராஜேந்திரன் பல விஷயங்களில் எனக்கு ஒரு தூண்டுகோல். எனக்குத் தெரிந்து ரவியின் இடுகைகளிலேயே இந்த இடுகை பலரைச் சென்றடைந்துள்ளது (மறுமொழிகள் சில சமயம் சிறுபிள்ளைத்தனமாகவும் வேடிக்கையானதாக இருந்தாலும் மன்னிப்போம்!) எனவேதான் இங்கே பதிந்தேன்.

அன்பழகன், ஆங்கிலம் பேசினாலே நுனி நாக்கில் வேகமாகப் பேச வேண்டும் என்று ஒரு எண்ணம் உள்ளது. அது தேவை இல்லை. நிறுத்தி நிதானமாக மெதுவாக, சிறு சிறு வாக்கியங்களாகவே பேசலாம். இவ்வாறு பேசும் போது பதற்றம் குறைந்து சொற்கள் தடுமாறாமல் வரும். எங்கு is, was வரும் என்பது போன்ற குழப்பங்கள் இன்றி முக்கியச் சொற்களை மட்டும் அர்த்தம் புரியுமாறு வெளிப்படுத்தலாம். நான் ஓராண்டாக ஐதராபாதில் இருக்கிறேன். இன்னும் இலக்கணம், கால அடிப்படையிலான வினை வடிவங்கள் புரிபடாவிட்டாலும் இது போல் தான் தெலுங்கு பேசுகிறேன். முகத்தில் புன்முறுவலுடன் தட்டுத் தடுமாறி தெலுங்கு பேசினாலும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்கிறார்கள். இதே போன்ற தன்னம்பிக்கை, தெளிவோடு ஆங்கிலம் பேசிப் பழக முயல்வதும் உதவும்.
எனக்கும் ஆங்கிலம் பேச வேண்டும் என்று ரொம்ப ஆசை. ஆனால் அதற்கான முயற்சிகள் நான் எடுக்க வில்லை. ஆங்கிலம் நன்றாக படிக்க வேண்டும், பேசவெண்டும். ஆங்கிலம் படித்தாலும் அதன் அர்த்தங்கள் புரிவதில்லை.
